Are We Having Fun Yet?
And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen - the first semester of Dental School is now complete. Biochem is finished, Histo is finished, Community Dentistry is finished twice, and we've got one test remaining in Gross Anatomy. Altogether three and a half years left. On the one hand, it's hard to believe that we've been here for 22 weeks. On the other hand, it seems like we've been here forever.
At any rate, it's nice to see the sun again, though I feel a bit odd not having anything I need to be studying.
Here's wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday season, with a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kawanza and/or simply Season's Greetings as the case may be, and Happy New Year. Looking forward to seeing everybody again next semester (though I must admit I'm also looking forward to not seeing you guys for a change over the next two weeks).
Berto Needs Pictures
Class Historian Roberto Loar is looking for pictures to use in a class scrapbook. You should have received a copy of his request for pictures (in any format) via e-mail. I know you folks have cameras that you're using, and the pictures don't have to be of strictly dental-school functions, so send 'em in if you've got 'em, 'cause we need 'em!
I mean, this is a great picture and all, but is it really how you want us to be remembered?

Other, Less Interesting Stuff
From a site management standpoint, Gross Anatomy and Biochemistry notes have been archived in the Note Vault.
Also, I've added "Birthdays This Week" to the top of the news page (there aren't a lot for the rest of December and all of January, so I might be a week or two ahead here and there), and I'll be posting those based on the information in the Student Directory, so if you have a moment you might want to drop in there and make sure your info is correct. If you've lost the e-mail with the username and password, you know where to reach me.
In computer-related news, the Computer Group is reporting that Dell should be here to replace the LCDs early next semester, but there's still no definite date for that.
It was also suggested at Thursday morning's meeting that T&N may have the new wireless access points installed in all the lecture halls by the time we return, so keep your fingers crossed.
Finally, I sent an e-mail out (and I'll send another one when the semester starts back up), but anyone who has replaced McAfee VirusScan (or Virex on the Macs) with the school's Symantec AntiVirus needs to see me and sign something.
At this point that should mean everyone, but if you haven't switched yet, the instructions are located on the Tech Tutorials page. You will need to be in the cubes or on the VPN, though.
