Physiology Problems
In case you wanted to use the Physiology study questions from Blackboard without having the answers staring you right in the face as you go, here are some versions with the highlighting removed.
I've heard some of the answers on the originals (from Blackboard) may be wrong anyway, so it may help if you check yourself based on what's in the notes. I'll get these added to the Note Vault sometime soon.

Ew, Worms!
There's a new mass-mailing Internet worm going around at the moment that's been dubbed W32.Novarg.A@mm (or W32/Mydoom@MM, depending on who you ask).
On the plus side, it's been programmed to ignore a number of e-mail addresses as it spreads, among those being any .edu address, which obviously includes our uthscsa.edu accounts.
Just to be safe, however, I strongly suggest everyone avoid opening .bat, .cmd, .exe, .pif, .scr, or .zip e-mail attachments unless you specifically requested the file from the sender, and make sure your Virus Definition Files are up to date.
In Symantec Antivirus, just double-click the shield icon in the system tray, click "LiveUpdate" and follow the instructions.

Ew, Gross!
What's this? An update? Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Notes! Gross Notes! Tony Morlandt sent in a Gross Brain Hitlist and a Neuro Plate Hitlist to help us study for our last stand in Gross Anatomy.
As usual, you can find those in the Note Vault.
If anyone is taking good notes in any of our new classes - send them in! We'd shorely 'preciate it, don'tcha know.
Oh, and there's a timetable brewing for the new LCDs. I'll keep you posted.

A Few Things
In terms of site management, I've updated the Liaisons list with the new class liaisons for this semester. If you're one of these folks, you might want to check to make sure your e-mail address is correct and your name is spelled right (or that you're listed correctly with the class you're liaison for). I'm sure it's somehow significant that Ernest is once again liaison for the class with the longest name.
Furthermore, I added a link to the Spring 2004 Class Schedule to the Links page, for your convenience.
Finally, I stuffed the news for December into the News Archive, so if you missed the awesome picture of Lots of Cheese, then you know where to find it.

Neuro CDs Buzzing
If your Neuro CD buzzes in the drive - put it in the jewel case, hold it down so it doesn't spin, and press the label flat onto the CD with your thumb, especially around the edges. That should kill the insects trapped under the label and silence the buzzing noise.

Symantec Antivirus
If you don't have Symantec Antivirus yet, talk to Tod or me about that.
If you have it, but you've got the "Managed" version, then come talk to me and we'll get you fixed up. (To check: double-click the yellow shield icon on the lower right of your screen. If the "Parent Server" is anything other than "None", then you're running Managed.)
If you have it, but didn't get your signature on the "Agreement", Tod's got the list - there's still time to sign! Act now! Limited time offer! Not valid in ME, RI, British Columbia, or where prohibited by law.

Anew Year
And with that, friends, we commit 2003 to the fire.
From its ashes springs forth the next, bringing with it new opportunities...and new responsibilities.
This new year, while building upon the remnants of the last, is a renewal, a fresh start. Such is your blessing. Such is your burden.
For this new year is your child. And while this child shall do as is its wont (as all do), unto you is given the power, the ability, and the duty to guide it - to shape its whims so that its full potential is realized, and in doing so, also yours.
May we all make the most of what we have been given, so that a year hence, we shall be priviledged to look back and marvel at all we have accomplished, and how much we have changed, and grown.
Happy New Year, e'erbody. See you in class.
